Historique :	Auteurs : Robert Morane (1886-1968), aviateur ; Léon Morane (1885-1918), aviateur ; Raymond Saulnier (1881-1964), ingénieur. Construit en 1944, le Morane-Saulnier 502 dit Criquet est un avion terrestre, monomoteur, à construction métallique et ailes hautes repliables vers l'arrière. L'utilisation d'un atterrisseur haut et particulièrement solide, d'un profil d'ailes approprié, de volets d'atterrissage et de fentes fixes, permet d'atterir et de décoller sur une courte distance, de volet à l'extrême ralenti et d'avoir une pente de plané très grande. Ceci rend possible son utilisation sur des terrains exigus et non aménagés. Il est le dérivé français du Fieseler Storch 156 allemand. Ce type d'avion est utilisé pour des vols de liaisons, de reconnaissances, d'expéditions, de recherches. Il est prévu pour le transport d'un pilote (en place avant), d'un passager (en place arrière) et de 80 kg de bagages ou d'un pilote et de deux passagers. Ce Morane-Saulnier 502 est l'unique exemplaire au monde.
