Historique :	Georges Hilbert sculpta le cheval qui évoque tout naturellement la chevalerie. Il était un adepte de la taille directe et s'était spécialisé dans la sculpture animalière. Son oeuvre est bien représentée dans les musées. Ayant copié des animaux au Jardin des Plantes de Paris, il orna les bas-reliefs de la ménagerie.
